That is better dude, a much smarter look on you.

So ladies, I hope you enjoyed meeting this mancat.

Make a Wish Meme

My friend SophieKitty tagged me for the make a wish meme.

The Rules:
1. Think about what it is that you want more than anything, what your heart’s desire and fondest wish is, and what it is that you would wish for if you were to see the above wishing star flame across the night sky.
2. Right click and SAVE the blank graphic below.
3. Use a graphics program of your choice and place your wish on this picture:
4. Post the Make A Wish Meme and your wishing star on your blog along with these rules.
5. Tag as many people as you like so that there can be wishing stars all across the Blogosphere and ask them to please link back to Linda so that we can see what wishes others have made and share those wishes with others.

This is the blank graphic you can use.

This is the wish that sophie made. Sophie I fink your wish is purrfect, and I would wish for that too! So if you don't mind I am just going to use yours. Also, the secretary doesn't know how to add my picture in.

I welcome any cat to try this meme. I am not going to tag anycat, as you might be all tuckered out from chasing the Easter bunny.

Dear Professor Poppy

Dear Professor Poppy,

A question for Professor Poppy Q-we had a fire in our apartment building the other day and our kitty ran under my king size bed when he heard the fire alarm since he was a scaredy cat. Fortunately, the fire was in a third floor apartment and was put out quickly and no one was hurt. We did have to evacuate the building and my kitty would not come with me since he was scared with the fire alarm constantly ringing. Any ideas on how to get the kitties out safely in the case of an emergency? Any tips are appreciated.

Dear Dream Mom,
Fank you for giving me this excellent question to ponder. It must be hard for you in a fire alarm, as you have to get your son out safely as well, and I can imagine that must take some time to get him out of bed and into his wheelchair. I had to ask my mum for advice, and we have been thinking about this all week.
  • Is there anybody in your building who you can rely on to come and help you with dear son and wiggles? I know it is hard to ask for help, but in this case you may need someone to help you get your boys out safely.
  • Is your ptu somewhere easy to access, so that you don't have to spend a long time getting it out. My mum often leaves mine out with my blanket in it, and I go and sleep it and am not scared of it.
  • If Wiggles won't come out, and you have to evacuate quickly, do you have a door onto the balcony that you could leave open for Wiggles?

Please if any kitties or beans are able to help with any suggestions, please leave a note in the comments for me and Dream Mom. Happy Easter to you, your son and Wiggles.

Our friend Smudge, he was too sick to carry on so his beans had to hold him, and pat him as he went to the bridge. Please visit his blog to say kind words to his beans and Zoe at Smudge & Zoe . RIP wee smudge.

Poppy Q

Ps Special advice from Miss Daisy (who was mentioned on CNN!!!)
You can get special Pet Rescue stickers for your window that say something like "In case of fire, please rescue my ___ cats" And then you fill out the number of cats you have. Of course getting the people out safely is the first priority, but these stickers will alert the fire department that there are pets in the house, and the number of pets.

Fank you daisy, that is good advice too!!

Hello Friday Friend - Good Friday Edition

Hello my lovely Friday friends. I hope you are all about to have a nice sleep in with your beans. Most of our blogging friends will be celebrating the return of spring, and if you celebrate Easter I hopes you has lots of singing and fun with friends and fambly.

It is already good Friday here, and although cloudy it is still warm. So the washing machine is busy at work and mum is pretending to do the housework while I is taking a nap.

Our Friday Friend this week is someone we met when we first started blogging:

  • He had a lovely sister, who had to go to the bridge last year. She will wait to greet us when it is our turn to go.

  • Now there is a new sister. I fink that someone wasn't too happy about it for a while, but they is learning to get along.

  • They lives in Seattle, in the US.

It is my friend Benjamin Fuzz and his little sister Lucy who are this weeks MY FRIDAY FRIENDS.

They have a super blog at http://tonisgotwebbedfeet.blogspot.com/ I hope Benjamin Fuzz doesn't mind, but I always think of him as fuzzy wuzzy. He is very handsome and very floofy.

This is the beautiful Lucy, she is just about to turn one year old on the 2nd of May. Not long to go Lucy!!

You can find Benjamin Fuzz and Lucy on their blog, The Fuzz Factor at http://tonisgotwebbedfeet.blogspot.com/.

Happy Good Friday everycat and bean.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr Angry

We are so angry, that we feel all upside down!!
Last night on tv, there was a show about a man called Yopie Alternburg. He lives in a small NZ town and he wanted to start a business at his residential adress, growing flowers for export to Japan. He had to get permission from neighbours to do so.
Now because cats sneak onto his property to do their natural business, he is trapping them and killing them. The SPCA, is unable to prosecute him because they say the cats are killed humanely.
Mr Alternburg, I am glad you are not my neighbour because YOU ARE A HORRIBLE MAN AND I HOPE YOU COME BACK IN YOUR NEXT LIFE AS A CAT !!! Go and move your business to an industrial or agricultural area where it belongs, not in the middle of a residential st.
If I find anywhere that you can send in an email to complain about this man I will.

Fanks Moki

We got this super award from our Friday Friend . Fanks Moki.
"It is given to cats, dogs or any animal or human bean that have lent a special helping paw/hand to another cat, dog, animal or human bean. You may give this award to as many individuals as you want, to thank them for lending you a helping paw/hand. If you don't need it now, save it, and you can give it when needed."
We want to give it to another set of super friends Beau and Angie as this week they were spreading the word about stopping declawing!! That is pawsome guys and I thought this was a great award for this important issue. As we have said many times - declawing lovely pussycats must stop. Scratching is also a normal behaviour for cats, it provides scent and visual territorial marking, it allows old cells to be shed keeping the claws in good condition. Clawas are important for pussycats as it allows them to defend themselves against enemies .
Please don't ever declaw your pussycat - please!! It is like chopping the tops of your beans fingers off!
We know lots of our lovely friends has no claws, as they was stolen from them when they were little. We just want to stop othere beans doing this to new little kitties. In New Zealand, where I live vets aren't allowed to do this to any pussycat as it is considered a restricted procedure .
Thank you Beau and Angie for thinking about our lovely tootsies.

My super Friday friend

Hello lovies, it is time for my Friday friend. This is the day of the week, where I get to tell my friends and family about another cat blogger. You see, they might be busy and have not got to meet you.

This week my friend is very special
  • He was found with his sister dumped on the front doorstep of an animal shelter
  • Even though his mom already had six pussycats, she found room in her heart and in her house for him
  • He has been to the hospital for lots of tests and is very, very brave.

This week my special friend is Moki, and you can find his blog at : http://savemoki.blogspot.com/

Mokis mom says on his blog, that when he was with her, he got sick with an upper respiratory infection. He had antibiotics, then got a urinary tract infection (UTI) too. Moki also walks very wobbley like a drunken sailor. If you goes to his blog, his mom has posted some videos of this handsome fella wandering about.

So Moki has spent a lot of time at the hospital lately, as the doctors are trying to diagnose what he has, so they can help him. The next step is for him to have a MRI scan (I thought he should have a CAT scan - hahahaha). That will cost his fambly a lot of dollars, so you could ask your beans to help you save some coins to help Moki out. He has a donation button on his website, where you can donate some monies. It is through paypal which is a super easy and safe way to donate, and all the money goes towards Mokis healthcare.

Some of the Moki furfambly gang, crashed out on the couch.

So thanks for visiting me, and meeting my super friend Moki.

Have a good weekend everycat and bean.

Creative meme -

Our friend Daisy the Curly Cat got tagged for a creative meme: This is what she wrote on her blog:

I was tagged by Butchy and Snickers to create something. Here is the challenge, which originally came from Maggie & Mitch:

I'm challenging bloggers to make something, anything, and post about it. Let's see what you creative people come up with! Here are the rules:

1. Make something, anything. It doesn't have to be complicated or artsy. Make a list, take an interesting picture, make someone's day, make dinner, make a doodle, make fun of yourself, make a poem, make your bed (OK, that last one is lame).
2. Write a blog about it. With pictures for extra brownie points.
3. Link to this blog and challenge six other bloggers to do the same.
So mum and I thought there was a gap in the market. We thought that cats might need their own special celebration hats for parties/birthdays and gotchaversaries. What do you think?
Would anyone buy one?
We has to figure out how we would fasten them under your chin, and figure out how you would pay for dem.
We would also use some of the monies to help one of our special friends. Who may or may not be our Friday friend tomorrow.
Looking forward to the feedback.

Change of Sheet season

Hmmm Mum, I fink that it is flannelette sheet season now. The nights are getting a bit cooler, so I will get you to move your knees, so I can snuggle up between them.
Poppy Q
PS - we does have fresh sheets on the bed every week. It just means we can put away the cool sumer sheets and have the fluffy winter ones in rotation now. Just in case you thought we was dirty.

Ohearlyoclock HUGE adventure

The other morning, at ohearlyoclock my mum had to go to work. She lives two streets away from work, so I thought I would follow her. I walked down this street, even though she told me to go home and tried to chase me back. I thought it was a game and kept following her. When i gotted to the end of the st and didn't know where I was I cried, so she chased me back and said "Poppy girl, go home".

When she came home, an hour later, I heard her jangle her keys and cried out. i was on this peoples balcony, 1 1/2 stories high.

Mum talked to me and told me I had to jump from the green wall, onto the garage roof.

I then had to jump from the garage roof, onto the garden.

Then I had to jump from the garden, onto the footpath.

Then I had to run around the corner - that's our street mum!! Boy, am I glad to get home.
Mum says she is going to buy a water pistol, to chase me back home with so I don't get losted.
I has a collar on, and I has a microchip too - so don't worry.

Ducks at the beach

Mum says that she liked these pictures she took. Thems are duck sitting in the surf next to the seagulls. She didn't know that Ducks liked to go to the beach. She thought she would take some pictures of the sun shining for you all. I know most of you miss it, but it will be back with you soon. We just needed it for our summer you see.

hello Friday Friend - I missed you!!

Hello Friday, sorry we didn't introduce you to a Friday Friend last Friday. Mum was getting a cold and was all stuffed up. She wanted you to meets our very special friends, and wanted to spend some time introducing them to yoos.

  • They are three very special dudes
  • They have their own woofie
  • They loves their mommy very much (and she loves them too)

Please come and say hello to my lovely friends, Kodak Winston and 3-Perf. They have a super dooper blog at http://agingfelines.blogspot.com/

This is them all lined up munching on their special diets.

Here they all are again, gathering on the balcony for a meeting with their Woofie, Velcro.

This is Kodak. He is looking all manly on his pink blanky. He is 12 years young, and is diabetic.
This is the very handsome Winton. Winton is 11.5 years old and has CRF (chronic renal failure). His mom does some great posts, in her archives about CRF. My mum wishes she was blogging when Puss Angel (her cat b4 me) had CRF. She felt very alone dealing with it. It is tough, but cats are tough too and even with lots of vet visits and tears , Puss struggled for a long time.

This is 3-perf - isn't he a handsome dude? 3-Perf or Perfy is 9.5 years young (and not a grey bit of fur anywhere).
Please go and say hello to my sooper Friday Friends.

Oh and this is the ETSY seller that does them too!

This is the other seller on Etsy at:http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9164545 who makes custom cats as well. Hers are slightly cheaper at $120 (US) + shipping.
Maybe you should get your beans to put a few dollars a week away and then they could get a mini you for christmas!!
