Early night

Mum says to say thank you to you all for wishing her a good nights sleep. It is 8.54pm and we are off to bed now with her book, as her eyes feel itchy. It must be the earliest night she has had in years, I don't mind.

Sunday spent in bed

My mum works at the hospital, and the last two nights she has been on-call. Both nights were verrrry busy, and she only got home to go to bed by 6am. So we have had two glorious sunny days, and me and my mum has snoozed through most of them. We have our paws and fingers crossed that tonight is better, otherwise it is going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnng week for us.

I Have a Question for Yoo!!!

Dear Friends,
We (me and my mum) was wondering, about a couple of things:
  • Cats having baths - mum has never ever given any of her cats a bath - ever. She understands that maybe if they got covered in stuff or really dirty. However that is what tongues are for isn't it?
  • Clipping claws - never done that to a cat either.

What do you all think about these things?

We know that because all the kiwi cats that mum has lived with, have been indoor/outdoor cats they get washed in the rain, and they get their claws blunted by running on the concrete and scratching trees and wood and stuff.

We are just curious about what you all think of having a bath or getting your claws clipped.

Curious Poppy.

P.S That sweeeeeeeeeeeeet kitty in the previous post, is a British Shorthair kitten, just like me.

Hello My Lovely

This little sweetie pie is a kitten who lives with the breeder lady who looked after me. Isn't she cute!! Mum says if only we had a bigger place, she would bring her home in a heartbeat.

We hope she finds a great home with people who love her lots!! Mums heart is breaking a little bit!

PS my mum isn't mad at me for spilling the water, so don't worry everybuddy.

Sorry

Dear Mum,
I is sorry for making your quilt wet. I was only seeing what was in the bowl. As my friends said, water is very slippery, especially if you is picking it up with your paws. At least it wasn't coffee or red wine.

Fank you for giving me more catnip on my scratching pad, for the fancy feast and for turning on the electric blanket.

I loves you mum.

I was NAUGHTY

Mum says I was a bit naughty today. She had a lovely sleep in, then got up and got my breakfast. For her brekkie, she had a muffin and fresh pineapple slices and a big glass of water in bed.

When I tried her water I couldn't get to it, so she poured some into the little bowl so I could drink it. Instead of drinking it, I tipped it over her bed.

Then tonight I comed back for more, and tipped the glass over and spilled the rest on her bed.

So I has gone to bed early, and is being a good girl.

Have a great week everybuddy.

Autumn is Here

This morning the weather looked promising, so mum did four loads and loaded up the washing line, just in time for the big grey clouds to arrive. It is cold and raining now, but the weather man said it should be sunny on Wednesday. Oh well, the towels should be dry by then.

After helping mum take the sheets off the bed, I have spread some furs on the electric blanket and now for the best bit - right now at 10pm we are gonna make the bed. Goodie goodie - I love this part.

Mum has a pile of books to read, and lots of jobs to get done. She is going to learn to love autumn. She says it will be time to tackle the wardrobe soon and dig out the sheepskin slippers and winter shoes. Goodie, I love the mess she makes.

Friday Night Plans

Friday night means getting the washing on the line, ready for weekend wind. Mum watched Mamma Mia - she laughed and sang along. Then on tv there is New Zealands next top model, which is much harder to watch than Tyras show. They take themselves so seriously here, all the kiwi accents are too much and the girls are too desperate to be famous, that they cry - A LOT!

Next was Project Runway - yippee., and blogging between the shows. I don't usually bother staying for it, I've got friends to visit on the street, and lamposts to sniff.

Have a great weekend everybuddy. We hope you all get some sunbeams and some smelly shoes to sniff.

Weather Cats Routine

Mum often calls me the weather cat. In the early morning, once I have done my business in the garden, I likes to run inside and jump on her and tell her if it is raining (often between 5-7am).

Now the evenings are getting darker and a bit cooler, I don't go outside to play with my friends. I tend to head to bed at 7pm, to get a little snoozing done before evening patrol.

So at the moment my schedule is:
  • 7pm-10.30pm sleep by myself on mums big bed, or on my little bed in the spare room
  • 10:30-10:40pm evening patrol, and doing my business
  • 10:40pm -6am sleep next to my mum, preferably with me lying over the electric blanket, and her on the cold half of the bed
  • 6am - morning patrol and taking care of business. If raining go inside, jump on mum and call out very very loudly. Then as she is waking, sit on her leg and go to sleep
  • 6:45am Loudly complain that I am ready for breakfast, make her get up and lead her to the bowl, where usually there are plenty of biscuits.
  • 7:10 Sit on spare bed, and watch the street below and everybody going to work.
  • 8:15 am - Stare at mum as she waves at me as she goes to work
  • 8:16 am - Back to snoozeville
  • 5:35 pm - Get ready to sit up when I hear the front gate, just in case she gets home early
  • 5:36 pm - Beg for fancy feast
  • 5:37pm - Need to get some more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

I hope you enjoyed my day with me. Even though I am an outdoor/indoor cat I don't have too many adventures.

Happy Bday Budley Dudley!!

Happy Bday Buddley Duddley, you know I love you the most cause you have the best smelling shoes in the family. Last time you stayed, I stuck my head in one of your sneakers, and almost passed out, due to the extreme stinkaliciousness.

Mum says that Gdad it taking you out to buy our bday present this weekend. We hope the stereo helps you enjoy your time in your budroom. Please remember to get out in the fresh air occasionally, if only to air out your shoes.

A great start to the week

Yippee for Miss Belle, she went with her marching team to Blenheim, to the National Marching Championships and her team got two firsts. Go Miss Belle!!

It was a lovely warm start to our week, with lots of sunshines.

Mum used her new pillow last night, she thinks she likes it. She also bought a new winter duvet inner, as her old one was about 1 years old and she thought that it was due for a replacements. A few too many washes, and she thinks most of the filling was sitting at the bottom of the duvet, not in the middle.

A great start to the week for everybuddy.

Cooling Down

Our day was beautifully sunny, and mum got to visit a few friends which was nice. The nights are beginning to show signs of autumn, with it cooling down. Mum had to buy herself a new pillow, as she said her neck was getting sore, partly because her pillow was a bit flat, but mostly because I pin her to the bed and she sleeps in a funny position.

This is the view of the next door neighbours house, that we see out of our backyard. Lots of old houses built close together.

Have a nice week everybuddy.

Cleaning Up

Saturday is a day for cleaning up. Don't mind me - I am just getting my furs in order. As you can see my tongue is very pink, my eyes are amber and the rest of me is grey!!

Mum has had the washing machine on all morning, but is going out to have fun this afternoon. Have fun mum, just drop some biscuits in my bowl on the way out won't you!!

Smooches.

Fanks

Fanks for sharing my week of love with my cat scratcher. As it has been a week of grey skies, I have got to spend lots of time on my bed stretching out. Mum has promised that she will put some more catnip in my scratcher tonight, after her shift.

Have a great weekend everybuddy.

Stretching with my scratch pad

As well as being a great sleeping companion, the scratch pad is an important piece of pilates equipment. Coming to a televison infomercial soon!!

Yes

Yes, my mum did put my scratching pad back on the bed. You can see how much I love it in this picture. Often mum finds me sleeping like this with my paw and head resting on it.

She took so many pictures of me, that we are going to dedicate this weeks posts to my greatest love, and show them all to you.

Mum thinks all the catnip is making me more happy and she has heard more purrs from me than usual.

Late Home

Mum was late home tonight, very late. She had to work at the hopsital, for about 14 hours. So I didn't get me any fancy feast, I had to make do with my biscuits.

So I was allowed a little party mix, just to make up for the delay. Then mum sat on the couch and watched "Grand Designs", a UK home show. So now mum is nice and relaxed and will got and read her book for a while in bed. Me, I am off out to do a little night petrol.

Last night, I didn't come inside til midnight. I was outside playing with the neighbours cat under the parked cars on the street.

Weekend Plans

Dis weekend will be busy for my mum, she has to work at the hopsital, so I am in charge of the housework again. I will supervise from the bed, and make sure that there are lots of furs on everything, for my mum to hoover up.

Have a lovely weekend everybuddy.

Salmon - Just say No!

Cause it was my mums paynight, she splashed out on a small packet of smoked salmon at the supermarket. Would I try it - no!! Mum says she has never had a cat that didn't like the stuff before me.

I don't do bean food - let me sniff it, but usually I don't want to eat what you is eating. I like my morning biscuits and my evening fancy feast.

Morning View

Hello Ceiling, I loves the patterns the summer sun makes in the morning. Soon the sun will slip away, and not shine into my bedroom window. So I am enjoying it while I can.

Eye

Eye wanted to thank you all for visiting me 40,000 times. I think that when I waked up in the morning, the counter will tick over to that big number.

My night will be spent sprawled out between my mums knees, forcing her hips into unnatural positions. I will try to wake her at 5am, when the birds wake me, to tell her to get up in an hour and a half and feed me my breakfast, even though there will be biscuits in my bowl, leftover from my pre bedtime snack.

I'm living the good life. I hope you all are too. Mum hopes they remake the British show "The Good Life", she thinks the timing would be perfect.

Sunday snoozing

Sunday is a day for resting, but as the sun has returned briefly the washing machine is not getting a day off. Mum is off to get some things for her lunch and do some jobs, then she will come and tackle a few of those pesky weeds she has been meaning to pull up for weeks.

Welcome to the first day of Autumn. We are going to embrace your arrival, for each day of autumn and winter, brings us closer to summer again.
