Hail

Today was a day of dark dark skies and hailstones.

It came close to snowing in our city. We hope everybuddy here was bundled up nice and warm.

Me, I didn't move too much. The first day of winter starts for us tomorrow. That means 3 months of snoozing before spring arrives.

Have a nice weekend everybuddy

Dis is my mums bed, and cause it is winter this weekend, we are going to snuggle in it. She has two duvets on top, and two quilts folded up over her legs, and a merino blankie on top for me.

Just plain cosy. We hope you all have great snuggles this weekend.

Mums New Boots are made of Sheeps

Yesterday we showed you a glimpse of mums new boots!! They are made of sheepskin and she said they are super cosy and warm, especially in the cold. They are inside boots only, so no splashing in puddles, and they are almost my colour, just a little bit more brown although in this picture they do look a lot like me!

Mum has moved them from outside my cupboard, into her room. That way I can leave my smells on my cans of fancy feast.

Sleepy Spot

This is my cosy winter spot. Mum has put a sheepskin bed beside the heater, but I likes it best with a towel on top.

You can see it is very close, but don't worry I won't get burnt. Mum only has the heater on when she is at home and soopervising.
I hope you all have somewhere warm and snuggly to curl up.

Mondayitis

It is Monday, and raining again. Lately, cause it has been cold I gets up and has my breakfast in the morning. Then mum gets up and has a shower, and while she dries up she pops back into her bed to listen to the radio and dry her hair. So I go back and sit on her, and keeps her awake so she goes to work.

She says lots of peoples she works with must have Mondayitis, cause someone always calls in sick on Monday. Mum says she never has sickie days unless she is sick. This is cause if she ever does it, she is sure to get real sick the next week and then feels t00 guilty to have a day off.

Is there lots of Mondayitis where your beans work?

We want to send out special thanks to a super lady. Barb, the mum of our gorgeous grey guys at Gandalf and Grayson’s blog , well she has been a hero this week. She helped to rescue Whitey, a dude who was down on his luck and living rough. Poor Whitey had had a big abscess that burst, so he was a bit sick too. Well Barb, took in the groovey fella, got him off to the vet and then brought him back to her office for some loving and some fancy feast.

So we wanted to say thanks to you Miss Barb. The story of Whitey has touched our hearts, and the world is a better place beacuse of folks like you.

PS - they still haven't caught the folks who had $10 million put into their account accidently. ALL of our friends said they would do the honest thing and return the money, and yes, appartently you have to return the interest too. We will keep you posted on this story!!

Did you hear?

Did you hear about the kiwi couple in the news this week? They asked the bank for a loan of $100,000 dollars. The bank accidently put ten millions dollars in their bank account, and guess what? They did a runner with the money.

Boy, ten million dollars would buy ten million cans of fancy feast. I could feed the whole cat blogosphere with that money. It wasn't me and my mum though, we would have had to be honest and give the money back, after we took hundreds of photos of our bank balance!!. If you were honest, we wonder if they would give you a reward?

What would your beans do? Let the bank know or run away with the money?

Tightrope Fence Walker

I like to tightrope walk down this fence. See the house next door?

That is the top of their windows, so the drop on their side of the house is about 6 foot.

Don't worry though, I have perfect balance!

I use my tail to help me navigate the difficult parts.

Now, I can jump down and run out into the front of the house, the street and the neighbours houses.

Helping in the Garden

Hmmmmmmmm - mum I think the weeds came back.

I am so embarassed by all the weeds, I can't bear to look at you.

I told mum to start over here...........

.........so she was good and pulled out a rubbish bag full of weeds, and pruned two big bushes. We won't get it all done this week, but a bit at a time, everytime the sun is out, even if it is cold.
I am sorry it wasn't more exciting. Thanks for coming back to see what we did. Mum said I had lots of fun while she was pulling out the weeds. I was running back and forth from one end of the garden to another, and then running in and out of the house.
After the gardening, I had to have my fancy feast and some water and then a big snoooze as I had used up all my energy.
Happy snoozing to you all.

Helping out

Mum has been pulling old stuff out of the wardrobe, and I have been helping her decide what stays and what goes. Lets just say the Salvation Army store must be swamped with mums old stuff.

I hope you get to help out at home this weekend - indoors or outside.

Cosy Spot

Winter has arrived at our place. Mum was drying the towels in front of the heater, and I found it was a perfect place to take a nap. It has been a bit chilly, and our old wooden house is not very warm. However the heaters are on, and at 9.30pm mum will warm up the electric blanket.

We hope you all have a nice nap somewhere warm and cosy.

Investigation

Mum went shopping for us this afternoon. She thought she would try this new brand of stinky stuff, because it was on special and she thought I might like it. This was the first flavour she opened : - It was called tender beef morsels, made by Select at Woolworths.
  • when she opened it it was very runny and looked a bit like, you know - the runs.
  • it didn't smell too bad, and I went and sniffed it - and then ran away.
  • So mum had to throw it out.
  • She opened a second can, to see if it was the same, and it was.

So, mum looked at the label and we have emailed the Woolworths head office to put our complaint in. We will let you know if they reply and what they say. Now she has bought me some other flavours to try and I will let you know how we go with them.

Good on them for passing the message on. I guess the main things we are voting with our wallets and won't buy any again.

Happy Mothers day

Happy Mothers day to all the mums out there, human or cat. I let my mum buy herself a woolly hat, that was my present to her, and all the cat furs on her bed.

Have a lovely day ladies.

Life IS Grand

I got this great award from my super friends Bono,Moe and Mindy , thanks everybuddy. We haven't been good at posting about our awards, but we had time to write about this one.

I have to tell you five reasons why my life is grand:

  1. I get to have a catdoor, which means I am in charge of when I want to go outside and come back in. No rules - I come and go as I please, but mum says I am a good girl and have never run away.
  2. I get a different can of fancy feast, every day!!! I have one every night for dinner, and eat cruchies in the morning.
  3. If I jump on my mums knee and sit down, she pats me and talks to me and hopefully gives me some party mix or temptations.
  4. All my friends on the blogosphere - you guys make us smile each and every day, and make every single day better. We loves you everybuddy.
  5. My family, who loves me and reads about my adventures, and never tells my mum that she is crazy for helping me blog (we know they are thinking it)!!

I would like to give this award to our friends Fui and Suey , who have opened their hearts and home to so many needy kitties. They are moving to Sydney soon, so we wish them luck in packing and moving.

Ginger Jasper you are a new friend, but we are loving your floofiness and adventures. Thanks for making us smile.

Tober the Library Cat , cause he is cute and also he is doing a great job of working at the library and keeping all those ladies under control.

Mark at A good CAHS , he is an awesome cartoonist, who is raising awareness for his local humane society. He hasn't had many visitors, but we would recommend checking him out.

Also another new friend Percy the Cat , who is a rescue kitty who has found a great new home.

We love you all everybuddy, and please share this award with us.

P.S the crazy man in our famalies hometown, well he went a bit crazy after killing one policeman and shooting two other cops and a neighbour. After barricading himself in his house, he is now no longer a risk to anyone. The police and bomb squad are checking out his property, and hopefully everyone can return to their homes after a 50 hour siege. On the news tonight, some cats and dogs had been rescued from their homes and reunited with their beans.

Crazy Man

Thank goodness it is Friday. While I snuggle on my grey merino blankie, and the rain pours down outside, mum is going to meet a friend for lunch in town.

Her niece and nephew Belle and Bud, have managed to get the day off school. In their town, a crazy man has been taking potshots with his gun, and killed one policeman, injured two others and one bystander. He lives a long way from Belle and Buds house, so they will be safe, but the school is closed. Lots of police are gathering in the town, and they will take the crazyman down!!

We hope you all have a good Friday - with no gun toting crazy strangers.

Poppy Houdini

Why yes, several of you asked if I had a catdoor. Why yes I do. You can see it on this picture here. It goes out of our kitchen straight into my backdoor.

When I was an itty bitty kitten, mum started taking me outside for supervised visits in my first week. She would close the catdoor, and during the day put a huge heavy box in front of the door so I couldn't escape. After another week, when she came home, I would be playing in the back garden. I was clever, I would spend all morning moving the box, and pushing my way through the door and all afternoon in the garden.

I was Poppy Houdini.

So I can come and go as I please, anytime of day or night. I like to be at home though, and if mum is there I am usually somewhere close to her.

Rudely Awoken

Luckily we went to bed early last night. Mum read a little bit and turned her light out 1t 9.30pm. Usually she does this at midnight, so for her it was early, especially as she was on call for the hospital.

We weren't woken by the phone ringing, but by big booms of thunder, lightening and hail at 6am!! Who needs an alarm clock? Mum says my furs were a bit wet when she touched me, so she knew I had snuck out for a pee before the storm struck. I was good and didn't run away and hide, but stuck my head out the curtains to look through the closed window.

The storm passed after 20 minutes, and we could go back to sleep as mum is on an afternoon shift today.

We hope all the storms pass you by wherever you are.

All stretched out

After a bit of cat yoga - you need to chill out and relax, something I specialise in.

Mum has had a long and busy couple of weeks and tonight she is yawning at 8.30pm, so thinks it is time to climb into bed with her book and have an early night. I am out in the lounge, on my polar fleece on the big chair with the heater on. Mum will get up and turn the heater off shortly, and I will join her once the snores come out of the bedroom.

We hope you all get to have a good nights snooze too.
