It's Playtime!!

It's Friday so me and mum have decided that it's time to play.  Work is over and the sun was shining, so we are looking forward to our weekend.  We hope you all have fun too.

p.s I am playing with my mums finger under the picnic table

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that my mum got us some beautiful spring flowers for us to enjoy.  It's making us happy to have sunshine and flowers.

Morning Time

My friend Deb asked me if daylights savings meant I was waking up earlier in the morning.  I don't usually wake up with the birdies.  This morning my mum waked up at 6.45am to have a shower.  I just rolled over and looked at her, and stretched out to take up more space.  Finally I woke up at 7.20am to go off and check out my breakfast.  If mum sleeps in, I usually sleep in with her.

Mum says she knows she is lucky as all of her friends have cats that wake them up at early o'clock.

Morning Light

Our daylight savings got switched over at the weekend, and already we are enjoying the lighter mornings.  It makes it much more pleasant to awake to sunshines, then the dark mornings we had been having.

Friday Night Lights

This was mums view last night - she went to the stadium to see Australia vs USA in the Rugby world cup.  She had good seats and the crowd were entertaining, except for the booing.  Mum was really surprised, she expected the mostly kiwi audience to support the US, but did not expect the annimosity towards the Australians.

Afterwards mum stayed out past midnight, as her and her friends went to an Irish pub and listened to the band for a while.  So today, we had a bit of  a sleep in, and mum went for a walk around town this afternoon, but the wind and cloud picked up, so mum is spending the night at home with me.

Tonight, the All Blacks play France in Auckland.  We hope the crowd are better behaved tonight.

Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiday and I'm starting my chillaxing early.   I have to send mum off to work,  so if you need me I'll be out back on the deck.  Have a fabulous weekend everybuddy.

Growers

Look at our grass - it sure is growing.  I like to nibble on it every now and then.  Mum is just glad it hasn't just turned into a little pot of sticks, like most things she grows.

Your Spot

I am in your spot - stealing your sleeps!!

My new snoozing spot is mums bed, right where she wants to sleep.  So I sneaked in there at 7pm, and she won't be in bed til 10.30ish, so I will get a bit of snoozing before I have to move.

Furtan

I'm starting my furtan early = we got a taste of spring yesterday, it was lovely.  Today though, the rain and cold came back, so I'm busy keeping mums bed warm and cosy.

Mum says she will be digging out the sandals soon, although her legs are the colour of chicken legs.  Oh well, there should be sunshine along soon to warm her up.

Herrow!!

Ohhhh mum loved yesterdays photo sooo much - it just made her laugh looking at my freaked out face.  I often do that if I am outside, and mum comes up by a window or door, I run up to talk to her and tell her what is happening.

The rest of the weekend has been quiet, as she is still making those nasty flu germs go away.  She went for a bit of a walk today and did a few jobs, and is going to spend Saturday night at home on the couch with me.

Let Me In!!!

Mum laughed and laughed when she got this shot this morning.  I was sitting out on the deck, but when I saw mum I went running up to the doors meowing at her.  Luckily the camera was close by and she got the shot.

Hope you all have a nice weekend planned, mum is going to take things easy and let the germs go away.  She can feel her immunity fighting back now and is going to feed it with lots of fresh fruits and veg.

P-ESS - I was not in any danger outside, even if my face looks scairt.  Mum can't even unlock that door, I was just Mowwwing at her cos she was looking at me.  She called me and I runned around the deck and climbed in through my cat door.

My Biggest Love

Today, mum still had the laryngitis so she got to put in a whole half hour at work before being sent back home to bed.  So I got some loving  time in.  First I snuggled next to her on the big bed, which I haven't done in ages, then I did some snuggling next to my true love - little brown shoe, how I love you.

Cat Loaf

Today  I have been a bit of a cat loaf while mum has been resting.  The skies turned black, and we had a hail storm around lunchtime, which was crazy.  The thunder made me a bit scared and I was fraid.  Mum gave me a cuddle, but as soon as the hail stopped I went outside and hid out in my hidey safe spot - mum thinks that it is under the deck.

Monday

Monday, and we are quiet around our house, as mum is still recovering.  Her cough is a real bark, which scares me and she has laryngitis as well.  So she has stretched out on the couch and watched lots of things on the DVR.  The flu is doing the rounds of Wellington at the moment, and mum says that it is the nastiest one that she has had, she certainly doesn't want to pass it on to anyone else.

My Room

This is my room - although mum has put more stuff in it this weekend, as she had to move the lounge stuff around to fit in the new couch (sofa).  She stayed on it last night to give it a test drive as she only has been getting an hour or twos sleep at a time.

She thinks her germies are getting fought and hopefully chased away, although she still feels week, has a hacking cough and no voice.  Last night was the worst with coughing til she felt like being sick, and today her whole chest and diaphragm hurts.

Mum says thanks again for so many sweet well wishes - you guys are the best.

New Couch

We got our new couch today - it is  ginormous, like a big ship in the living room which mum says will take a little bit of getting used to.  The lucky thing is, the arm is the same shape and in the same place, so  I found the same spot to sit on, as I used to sit on the dark couch.

The good thing about it being huge, is that mum can lie down it when she is feeling crook.

Weekend

The weekend is starting here in NZ and mum says it will be a quiet one for her as she is recovering from this bug.  The Rugby World Cup has begun, and mum is meant to be going to a match on Sunday, but is not sure if her germs will let her go out of the house yet, as she doesn't want to cough and splutter over anybody.

Nursing

Nursing my mum is an important job.  Of course I do this from another room, not sitting in with her.  She has done a lot of sleeping, and has been taking lots of fluids and reading.  Thanks for all the kind caring comments.

Drats

Yesterday was rats, today it's drats.  Mum has felt since this morning that she has sucked in another chest infection.  She thinks that this year she has had the sickest year in a while.  Working in a hospital is risky, and mum seems to have had every bug doing the rounds.  So tonight, she is going to head to bed early with her book and some paracetemol.

Rats

See the trees I am sitting over - and see the shed?  Well mum liked to put left over slices of bread and pieces of fruit on top of the shed for the sparrows.  And those sweet little birds used to sit and wait for their daily feed.  Well when Gdad was down and staying with us, him and mum noticed some funny looking birds jumping around the trees.

They were funny looking already - cos they were rats.  Thats right, rats were climbing up and feasting on our birdie food.  Yuck!!  So now mum isn't sure what to do to feed the birdies.

Happy Feet

Happy Feet the emperor penguin has gone home finally.  He got lost swimming from Antartica and found his way north of Wellington.  So he has spent the past few weeks on holiday at our Zoo where he has been the star attraction.  A big science boat was heading south, so they have given him a lift half way there so he doesn't have to swim all the way.  Good luck Mr Happy Feet, we hope you find your way back to penguin land safely.

Forgetful

Mum got home after work and grocery shopping today, and she realised that last night when she shut the back door, she forgot to lock it - at all.  So all night, and all day the back door was unlocked and anybuddy could have come in and stole the computer or all of my fancy feast.  So mum has locked it, and put the key away.

Ohh and it's the first day of spring here - yippee!!!  Welcome to September!!
