Finally Friday

Even though it has only been a four day working week for mum, she is a bit bone tired.  That could be due to the two evening shifts followed by being on call last night and having to do a job at 2am.

So while mum was away at her 2nd amazing Adele concert I had to go to the cattery to have my teeth fixed.   The vet had been suggesting it for several years, but were weary due to my arrhythmia.  Finally they said we had no choice but to do it so booked me in for last week.

Mum says she is never starving me overnight again, I will have to to the vet early.  She took my foods away at 8pm the night before.  Well I was on top of her reminding her every 5 seconds that I was hungry.   Boy was she tired.

Because I had to be at the cattery after my surgery, I was well looked after.  So by the time mum picked me up she only had 2 antibiotics to give me.  They had thought I would need one tooth removed but in the end 4 went.  Mum has been pleased with me as I have been pleased to be home and quite settled.

Mum can't remember if she told you about the cat she saw a few weeks ago being walked round the city on a harness?  Well she got to meet that cat Beth and her mum at the vet clinic.  They were there as they are moving to Spain and Beth needed a Rabies shot.  She forgot to take a photo of them.

Anyway it is time for us wary girls to take ourselves off to bed.  Night Night everybuddy.

Mums Break

Mum got to go on another one of these things.
She went here.  This is the sky tower in Auckland.
Mum and her beasties stayed in a hotel which on one side overlooked the noisy motorway.  Out the other window was a love view of the harbour with Rangitoto in the background.
The girls went to see Adele.   It was her third Auckland concert and the last of her 15 month tour, although she has 4 more in London her home town.  Friends, it poured with rain, like non stop torrential rain the whole time.  She stood there in the rain and put on an amazing performance.   Everyone danced and sung their hearts out with her.

They did a bit if shopping and caught up with friends they haven't seen in ages.  Their was wine and food, so all that walking came in handy.

So now back to normal life for mum, and time to plan some new adventures.

Prison Break Out

I have escaped the kitty cattery.  Mum came this morning to pick me up.  I had been a good girl.  The vet thought that I would only lyrics need one tooth removed but in the end they took four out.  Because I was at the vet for another four days I only have 2 antibiotics left to take.

Once mum got me home I wandered round for a while and am ready for a nap.

Mum had a good time away.  She will tell you about her trip later in the week.   She has to go and get the unpacking done and hang out her washing.

Update

The vet has rung to tell me that Poppy has done well and woken up after her op.   I am glad to hear that and hope she rests all weekend as I know she is tired.  Last night I took her food away at 9pm so that she would be starved for surgery.  She lasted until 2am before she spent the next 5 hours jumping all over me and non stop meowing.

Thanks for keeping everything crossed for Pops.  Now I have to find finish packing and get to the airport.

Fingers and Paws

Hi my furriends I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow will be a big day for me.  Mum is going away for a few days, so I am booked into the cat hotel again.  This time though I has to have an operation to have my teeth cleaned.  I have an arrhythmia which makes it  a little bit risky, but the vet says I do need them done.

So mum asks that you keep your fingers and paws crossed for me.  Mum will let you know how it goes.

Fix It Fail

So mum filed the locks on the cat door.  She heated the file and tried to melt them and she tried to lever them off but fail, fail , fail.  So she might have to get some friends with tools to come round and help.

In the meantime mum made some rice with meatballs and salad for dinner.  She gave me my feast and now the temperature is dropping and it is time to curl up on the bed with mums book.  Night night.

Cat Door Fixer

Mum has noticed that I have been having a bit of trouble with my new cat door.  It kept saying getting stuck on the little locks at the bottom.   Mum tried to cover them with duct tape, but that didn't help it.  So now she has borrowed a file from a friend at work to see if she can file them down.  Fingers and paws crossed that she can make it work.

Clouds

It was cloudy here today, and mum was thinking on the way to work about last week's flights.  She got a few shots out the planes windows.  She thinks there is something magical about flying above the clouds seeing them floating above the patchwork earth.

Me - I'didn't rather have my paws on the floor.

Sleepy Sunday

Mum and I got a nice sleep in today and after a cool autumn data on Caturday, the sun was shining.   Mum gave me a few snuggles and then she went and took herself out for a walk into town

She had misplaced one if her favorite necklaces, and found another one in the shop.  And best of all it was reduced from a whopping  $19 to $12  - bargain.

So the usual places were visited, the library to return some books and the supermarket to replenish supplies. Then a quick bus ride home to cook dinner.  I had a feast and then mum cooked up some parmesan fries, sausages with broccoli and carrots.  She was also organized and boiled some eggs for her lunch tomorrow.

Time to put our feet and paws up.

Chore Caturday

Mum and I had a quiet Caturday today.  She cleaned our small bathroom and swept the floors.  I supervised her - mainly from the bed.  It was good to have a quiet day today and mum caught up on a few of her shows and finally finished reading the book she started a few weeks ago.

It is time to pack the sandals away and polish the boots as it feels crisp outside.  Mum still has a lot of clothes to sort through but she will get to that slowly.

So we hope you got some relaxing and some fun things done on your Caturday.

It's All About You

While mum had her holiday I went to the cattery at my vets.  They give mum a report card to say that I was quiet but enjoyed cuddles - Mum thinks that was funny as I don't often want cuddles.  I got to see the vet , as my tummy was a bit upset but settled down.

I am glad to be back home though, especially cos mum let me have these two shopping bags to sleep on.

We hope you are all having a fun St Patrick's Day.  Although mum is a 7th generation New Zealander a lot of her family originally came from Ireland, and she does love potatoes!!

We're Back

Mum went to Adelaide Australia to stay with family and to see this fabulous lady.  She played at The Adelaide Oval in front of 70,000 and we had great seats only about 10 rows back from the front.

Adeles voice was amazing, even more powerful than her albums.  She was charming and funny and did some good things to interact with the huge crowd.  Did you hear that in order to get her out to the central stage, they wheeled her out in a big black equipment box?  That news came out the day before our concert, and they wheeled her out right in front of us.
Everyone sung along and enjoyed it all.
A great holiday for mum - lots of nice and warm 31 degree temperatures, and a relaxing time.  She is glad to be home with me again!!

We have had a taste of autumn today with rain and some cool air.   Mum woke up late as she was on shift.  Even with her lie in she is tired and thinking of curling up early with her book and me.

Glow

It was a nice day.  Us girls got a nice sleep.  A big pile of laundry was done, mum met a bestie and they ate fish tacos in the sun on the waterfront.   Mum wandered round town, then came home to keep me company.  A good old spag bol was made for her tea, and a feast was dished ou for me.  We both got a nap in the early evening as the sun still poured through our windows.   Life is good.

Quiet Caturday

Mum is thrilled that I awoke her at 5.30am by falling off the windowsill in the bedroom and leaving a tiny hole in the curtain.  She never really got back to sleep and has to work this evening so was looking forward to her lie in.

Me - well I am tiiiiiired  now, so I better get back to snoozing.

Enjoy your Caturday!!!!

Finally Friday

Friday night is finally here and we are so happy, even though mum has to go to work on Saturday afternoon it still feels like the weekend.   There has been a slight chill in the air and we feel autumn is on the way.

Middle aged mum feels no need to head out on a Friday night and she was happy to come home and see me.  Dinner was made, a feast for me and she had a pork chop with new potatoes and green beans.  A pile of washing is on the line and now the dishes are about to be tackled.

We hope you are all looking forward to your weekend too.  Any plans?

Long Day

Mums day started early this morning.  A 7am start means getting up at 5am and there weren't many people up in our street, every one was still snoozing.   The good thing about an early start is the early finish.  Mum visited the supermarket  (she loves to go there), and then walked home with the groceries, which is a good bit of exercise for the day.  Speaking of which, mum watched a programme about aging well this week.  They tested one group of pensioners who worked out on exercycles against a group who danced for a half hour a day, 3 times a week.  The group who danced tested with better muscle development and balance than the other group.  So mum is thinking that when the weather gets too rough for walking in the winter, she will turn on the music and dance.

Me - well I will be busy sleeping.

Hello March

Hello March we cannot believe that you are here already.  February was super busy for us and we know that this month will have some challenges, we are ready to get started.

Mum got a couple of over night call ins last night, and finally made it home at 06.30am.  So she went to bed for a few hours before getting up and having her shower and lunch.  She then popped into town for a wander and a trip to the library before heading home to cook dinner and feed me my feast.

Now the evening is drawing to a close so time to get the dishes sorted and tidy up before bed.
